ok I have had my cichlids for a long time now and they get along with each other fairly well. I just rearanged the tank and added a lot more hiding places for them I will post pics of it when I get a chance. Although my question that I would like to know is what is a good cleaner to put into the tank with them. I have had 2 plecos with them since I bought them all but one keeps getting picked on and they all leave the other one alone. Also I have had snails with them but they all seem to enjoy eating those. So does anybody know any kind of cleaner fish or inverterbre that I can put into the tank wih them?
Problems sometimes arise as common plecos grow larger. They produce twice the amount of waste for that which they clean from the bottom. This works against the aquarist when trying to maintain water quality. I believe regular gravel vaccuming in the aquarium, especially CICHLID tanks to be the best way to keep the bottom clean.
If the tank is large enough,, A catfish such as the larger synodontis species can possibly help, but should not be relied upon to heavily.
