Choosing fish to put in my tropical tank

I have a 15g tank with one female platy and a nerite snail. I was thinking about putting in two female swordtail females, and two dwarf or honey gouramis. I don't want to put any fish in that would bully my platy. I won't put guppies in, as I've had bullying problems before. I ideally want colorful fish, so if you have any other suggestions I would appreciate them. Preferably fish that could be found in Petco or Petsmart.

Thanks!

I wouldnt put 2 dwarfs in a 15g, they will fight quite often. U could get 1 though. Same thing with the honeys, they r the most peaceful things ever in a bigger tank. But in a smallish tank i wouldnt do it. Some swordtails can reach 4in!!! Also r very active fish. How did u have aggression issues with guppies (just wondering lol)?!?!?! Put u could do neons, or even more platies(different colors).

I would second the advice of adding more platies. They really do best in groups. Just keep babies in mind because you have to make sure you are willing to cull fry or give them away. Livebearers will quickly overstock a tank.

Just get more females, not males.

That isn't necessarily true, Tankman. Females in stores have almost always been in contact with males and can have as many as eight batches of fry after a single encounter with a male.

What about another female platy to go w/ my female platy, 3 bleeding heart tetras, and a dwarf gourami?

To tankman: I had two male fancy guppies that would pester and bully my one female platy. I gave the guppies away, but it was too late, the female platy died from the stress

Ya that makes sense. That m/f ratio goes sort of with all livebearers even of different species. I wouldnt do bleeding hearts. They are larger tetras that would like more room. Plus they should be in schools of 6+. U could do a school of serpaes, cuz they r smaller but they kind of look like the bleeding hearts.
