Has anybody used this? Im looking for some black sand to mix in with the aragonite sand. Just owndering how its colored and if that could be bad at all.
I recently bought the bag of black sand from them, I thought I had rinsed it out well enough but I guess I didn't so I ended up with a bunch of floating sand with big black bubbles and a wierd film on the top of the water. When I would reached in to the tank the film would get on me and stain my arm making me wonder if it was just very fine sand dust or possible dyes? idk... All that aside lol I currenly have the sand in my 20G and and besides the initial frustrations it seems to be doing fine, along with the fish in the tank.
Do you already have the aragonite? This stuff looks like it's already a mixture of black sand and aragonite (if it was just plain black sand they wouldn't mention the buffering or bother calling it cichlid sand).
Ya i already have some aragonite, i didnt even think about it just being black sand mixed in lol. I saw some black sand made by Estre's or something that started with an E and Im not a sand expert but Im hesitant about buying it cause the only black sand Ive seen is that tahitian stuff and this wasnt labeled as it but I doubt the would be selling something that wasnt safe.
