Well you have to look at discus on a scale of cichlids-ness and really anyone would have to agree they are THE most pleasant fish... Non aggressive, non digging, bright, intelligent, phenominal parents, and god are they beautiful!!!!!

BUT..... Big BUT.....

They, when all is said and done, are cichlids.... They are related to the red devil, the green terror, the convict... The fact is that although they are the aristocrats of the aquarium they are related closely to the gangsters ... And that means that vestiges of the gangsters traits will be there. And of course not to impinge the gangsters.... Even they have some of the most beautiful traits in the world.... There are few better parents in any world.... Human or aquatic!!!!!!!!
