Its worth bearing in mind that keeping discus with neons and cardinals is actually a surefire way of feeding the discus very well on live food.... despite popular cultural opinion discus are still cichlids and will predate on any small linear fish...especially at breeding times.

BA, BSc, MA.... hopefully soon to be Phd.

even if it cant fit in their mouth? isnt it that as long as the fish cant fit inside the mouth of the bigger fish, it wont eat it?

Unfortunately no.... even the placid discus will snap at a passing neon and especially at breeding time they can get quite stroppy!

Have kept rummy nose tetra's,cardinal tetra's,and threadfin rainbow's with juvenile Discus with no issues.
When Discus reached adult size however, the small tetra's, threadfin's began to vanish.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
