Can fish eat shrimp?

Hi,

I just finished cycling my new tank with shrimp from the grocery store. I put the shrimp in the bag but some of it came out and has collected on the rocks and wood. If I start stocking the tank with cichlids and a pleco, will it be okay if they eat the shrimp (if they eat the shrimp)? I don't really want to take out all the rock and wood to clean again... :p

Thanks

After a fishless cycle you need to do a large water change and gravel vac or fish will likely have problems with all the nitrate that is left over. Gravel vac should remove all the bits or shrimp. Its fine if fish normally eat fresh shrimp, I would be concerned though about the rotting shrimp left over from a cycle.
