I believe it may be ammonia, You should definitely remove it quickly, so your fish don't have to take risks.

its a diatom bloom, more than likely..............if thats what it is, it wont harm your fish........how long has the tank been set-up?

Diatoms, like fishing pole said... Won't hurt your fish, but can be ugly to look at and/ or take over the rest of the tank. Mainly occurs in newly set up systems, generally indicates a lack of light or an excess of silicates.
So you can Increased light to make make it disappear and / or wiping it off the glass and/ or vacuuming the affected area.

i had/have the same issue, its caused by low levels of ammonia, low light fert imbalance so many things. usually it clears up on its own just treat it as normal algae. scrape it or add a juviniule pleco and theyll keep it nice and clean.
