brown color alge

since ive added more plants to the tank i increased the light time to a little over 6 hours a day. problem is now theres alot of brown alge. its growing on the glass, rocks, and my plants. should i just cut back on the lighting or is there something else i can do?

i only have 1 24" 17watt 6500k on my 46 gallon bowfront tank.

I had the same problem, i cleaned the rocks that the algea was on and then i made sure i watched how long i left my light on. I read that you should only leave your light on for a max of like 12 hours. i havent had it show back up yet, so i would try that maybe
