bristlenose no bristles?

Hi today i got a bristle nose pleco or bushy nose and im wondering why it has nno bristles? It os very small about an 1 and a half inches long 3 or so cm... will it ever get any

If it's a male it will grow bristles. Mine was a female so she never developed any. I can't say how soon a male will start deveoping them but I *think* at the 3' size you would start seeing them. Someone with experience or knowledge will have to confirm, I'm only guessing due to what their eventual adult size is and when they would be considered a sub-adult.

awsome i was worried sick that i wasted money on a bristle nose pleco with no bristles

Don't think like that, or you may end up disappointed! :P My BN never developed any bristles, since she is female, but she is by far my favorite fish. They are gorgeous, and as they get older, they only get prettier. With or without the whiskers. :)
