Brine Shrimp

I have just had a quick look about on Google and YouTube about Brine Shrimp. They look pretty easy to make and sound like a good food source for my fish so I'm going to give it a go. I managed to pick up 20g of eggs on eBay for 1.80 (or $2.80 if you don't know what is). When making these you add about 10g of salt to the water. When feeding these to my fish, won't the satly brine shrimp water contaminate the tank? Would be grateful for some advice on doing it too.

Thanks

One of the easiest ways I've heard is to use a brine shrimp net to get them out then wash them out in some tank water in another container so it washes the salt off then you can add them. There are other ways of taking some water out then adding fresh water basically repeating this until you think the amount of salt is barely anything left.

Thanks for the advice, I'll report back once I have tried it :D

Do you know if the brine shrimp have to be kept in salt water once alive or can they be transferred into freshwater?

I use used pantyhose to strain the shrimp out, and run tap water through it for a while. Just takes a couple rinses.

I believe brine shrimp will die in fresh water, they usually survive long enough to make a meal for your fishes but not much longer in fresh water, if your looking to grow them out you will need to keep them in salt water.
