Brine might cause bloat....

Hi all, I finally got the hang of brine shrimp and have probably around 100 adults in a bucket. I read somewhere that brine shrimp give he fish bloat if fed to often.Is that true or just a myth.

Never heard of that in terms of causing bloat, but it's bad practice to overfeed in any case.
Unfortunately, I regularly overfeed anyway, but at least my snails are happy

I don't know if it is due to bloating, but yes, too much brine shrimp will cause problems. Just as too many bloodworms though for different reasons. With the shrimp, I believe it is the skeleton, but I can be corrected. Whatever, it should not be a staple diet.

It's just the egg shell pieces. It shouldn't be given alone.. (IMO not even fry should get it alone- add powdered spirulina to the water)


It survives in fresh water for up to 24 hours, so there's really not any problem with overfeeding as long as it's within reason.

there adult brine and I feed to my juvienile killies and rams... both are close to breaching two inches and the rams are choosing a spot to lay there eggs. I was wondering, is there any thing i can hatch that is relatively easy and simalar to hatching brine?
