Brand new QT tank

The other day I got a 5 gallon QT tank for new and sick fish, as you do. I was thinking about getting some neon tetras to go in my fully cycled 20g betta batchelor pad, and was going to out them through quarrintine first so any diseases will be sorted out. However, since the tank is new, it hasn't cycled and I wouldn't want to go putting fragile neons into a new tank. How long would it take to fishless cycle? What could I do to hurry it up?

Well with neons, i've been impatient and put them in the same day lol.
Had no problems before, and neons are very adaptable fish, i wouldn't think there will be any problems if you put them in after a week or so :)
