Bought some new frozen fish foods...

made a trip to PetSmart today, and while i was there i bought 4 packages of freshwater frozen foods, that i hadn't really researched ahead of time. now that i got home, i googled some of them, and wonder if i should even be feeding a few of these to my fish. some of the info i got from google was for live versions of these foods, and warned about disease, especially with the tubifex worms. but on all the packages, they specifically address that issue, saying they sterilized 3x or something. i got the following...

Hikari Daphnia
Hikari Tubifex Worms
San Francisco Bay Brand Frozen Glassworms AKA White Mosquito Larvae
Hikari Mysis Shrimp

and while we're at it, a few i've had for awhile already...

San Francisco Bay Brand Sally's Frozen Brine Shrimp
San Francisco Bay Brand Frozen Bloodworms

i'd just like to hear people's opinions on these various foods, and if they are all appropriate for Community Tropical tanks.

I have (and do) feed my fish everything you've listed but the Glassworms and Tubifex worms. I would never feed my fish Tubifex worms, I don't care if they say they sterilized them ten times! Those worms are notorius for carrying parasites. Too risky, IMO. I don't have Glassworms available to me, if I did I would probably feed them. HTH.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

I've used both Hikari and San Francisco Bay brand in the brine shrimp, bloodworms and krill. I will say that I like the Hikari brand better as there is less "muck" in the cup when I defrost them. it just seems much cleaner than the SF Bay brand.

150 Gallon - Mostly American Cichlids
135 Gallon - Angelfish Community
55 Gallon - Polleni Tank
20 Gallon Long - QT
10 Gallon - QT
75 Gallon coming soon!

I use the SF frozen brine shrimp for my fish. I defrost one cube in a cup with tank water and give 1/4-1/3 to my 15 gal and the rest to my 29 gal...I havent had any issues. Although the muck mentioned tends to cloud my 29 gal a bit for a day or two, but doesnt in my 15 gal. But that's why I only feed it once every week or two. I just wish they didnt sink so fast...but i use a small coffee scoop to feed the tank one spoon at a time. The cories adore the stuff..as do the guppies and molly. And my betta and rasboras in the 15 gal freak out over the stuff.

*They call me, Amanda*
Tank 1: (29 gal planted) empty
Tank 2: (15 gal) empty
