blue green algae
I recently switched to a new tank and im getting lots of blue green algae. Is there a fish that will eat this stuff? I know its not true algae but i just planted the tank and im afraid turning teh lights off might dmg the plants because they havent had time to be truely acclamated to teh tank.

Fish basically do not eat BGA. The quickest way to get rid of it is to stop overfeeding your tank. I battled a bad case in one of my tanks until I went on a 2 week vacation. When I came home the fish were very hungry but the BGA was gone and has not returned. My photo-period is about 8 hours on that tank because it contains lots of plants and they need the light.
