Lightbulb **** Blue Angelfish Video Journal ****

Hi everyone this is my BLUE ANGELFISH VIDEOS VIDEO Journal:

Here is a video of the 130G planted community tank.

After a water change I give them a big meal.

After the big feeding, one of my 3 pairs started to layeggs

**** Close Up Zoom ****

Since the eggs didn't survive in my community tank, I decided to put of of my breeding pairs in a breeding tank. A few day later we have eggs. Here is a video of the parents with eggs.

3 day old eggs changing into wigglers.

Day 4 ( Wigglers)

Day 7 ( the family)

Angelfish can get quite aggressive when they have fry around

They will even attack you!!!!!!

After not believing it the first time I tried again!!!!

I stop bugging them since it stresses them out and left them alone with the fry. The next day I attempted feed the fry with brine shrimp. Success !!!!! Full bellies !!!!

The fry are growing fast. ( DAY 21)

They are getting bigger everyday ( 1 MONTH)

They are show some color ( 1 1/2 Months )

**** ( 2 Months ) ****

**** ( 2 Months ) Close Up Zoom ****

Looking like their parents ( 2 1/2 Months )

**** The blue is coming in nicely ( 3 Months )

**** The biggest ones are now loonie size. I have saved 7 for myself and sold the rest. Since angelfish have so many fry some are bound to be different. Notice there are 3 that are almost an albino color ( no stripes, no dark color, no red eye ) .
I find these to be pretty interesting because these could be the next gen blue/albino angelfish once I get them to breed.....providing that they stay like they are. Let see what develops .....

**** ( 3 1/2 Months ) Part 1

**** ( 3 1/2 Months ) Part 2

Very nice! I think it would be fun to breed Angelfish, but I don't have the means to support the extra tanks for growing them out.

What kind of black sand is that?

The other thing I noticed is in your community it looks like you have neon tetras, those are the natural food of Angels ;) What are the larger fish in there, with the black strip and red splotch?

Hi Geo
Thanks for your comments
I use Black Flourite ( plant substrate in the Big community tank) and black granite tiles in the breeding tanks.
Those are not neons. They are cardinal Tetras. They get a little bigger than neons and they are fine with angelfish.
The other fish your referring to are Red Line Sharks or Torpedo Barbs.

That's tile? Looked like sand to me haha.

I think your Angels still might eat the cardinals when they get full size (6").

I haven't seen those barbs before, they look really interesting.

Thanks for sharing the videos, really cool to watch.

Thanks

I was a little nervous when I put the tiles in. I wasn't sure if these tiles were aquarium safe. I washed the tile vigorously and cycled the tanks before I put fish in.
