Black snow looking stuff

I dunno what this stuff is, i clean it off and in few days its back.

Do you have any soil in your substrate? Your fish might be stirring it up. Or maybe it's carbon, if you use any activated carbon in your tank.

why did you think it was a good idea to keep going over the top of the tank
when you realized you couldn't breathe outside water?

I can't see it...are you talking about the black stuff or the fuzzy stuff?

I think the "fuzzy stuff" is a photographic effect, not something in his tank.

Nevertheless, it is hard to tell exactly what the black stuff is since it's small and somewhat out of focus. Maybe it's the tiny beginnings of beard algae?

did you recently change your carbon and forget to rinse it??? thats what it looks like to me....

Any chance you can take a clearer shot with a camera of these rocks there? The rocks look like they're beginning to have brown algae grow on them, but too blurry to tell really..

If you can't get pictures, googel image results for black beard algae see if that's like what you have? Does the stuff "fly off" easily when you wave your hand over it? Or is it attached like a lil plant almost?
