Betta and Tetra Compatability

Hello all....
I recently finished cycling my new 20 gallon tank. I am planning on putting my Glowlight (8) and Head and tail light (6) tetras from my 55 gallon tank in it. Well I was told that I could also put a Betta fish that we had in small bowl into the tank. I have 2 of each kind of tetra in there with him right now and he seems to love it. But I was doing some reading just now to see if I could add some Neon's as well but what I read says that the Head and Tail Light's are compatable with the Betta, anyone have any advice on this?! Have a 3 to 2 dispute of whether they will live in peace in harmony together...THANKS

i have had luck with a betta and 6 or 7 neon tetras and they were fine maybe its because my fish were less nippy

a lot of people have a problem with neons bitting the bettas fins, they should be fine just watch them if the bettas tail starts to look weird if it does take the neons back

id put 2 neons in first to see how it goes with the betta

Bettas have been known to eat neons.

So it's a big fish eat fish world LOL Well I have been watching the betta today and he is in there with 3 glowlight and 3 head and tail light and they kinda all school by themselves or they will let the betta join in, so far so good! A little leary now about getting the neons. Thanks for the input so far!

Maybe a very young neon but I have trouble believing a betta could eat an older tetra.

Well for anyone that read's this, it wasn't suceessful process! Bob the Betta went it looking fabulous, came out looking like Adrian! We watched him as much as possible from a distance and well all of a sudden we saw and Head and Taillight going after him, upon closer inspection his fin's weren't nice and pretty like they were before! So needless to say he is chilling by himself again!
