Best substrate

Can anyone assist me? I want sand but will it be better for corys and plecos than rocks?? I am turning my tank into a greek theme, so sand will look good in my tank. Thanks

Sand is good for cory, not so good for pleco.

I personally believe that peoples concerns about corys and gravel are really overblown. I have kept corys on gravel (eco-complete) and didn't see any problems. I have also kept plecos on both gravel and sand they seam to enjoy both equally. There is no legitimate reason not to keep plecos on sand, most plecos natural habitats are sandy bottomed.
