Bender Board in Freshwater?

I'm considering using some benderboard or bendaboard in my freshwater aquarium to create a beach effect. Sand on one side, gravel on the other.

I've read that bender board can be made out of redwood, synthetic, or recycled plastics.

Thoughts on whether or not this product is safe to use in my aquarium?
