you are definately close to bieng overstocked, just a fyi some glo lites out there are man made as far as color goes Which could be why it died off. Depending on your water params you might look into neon tetras mollies or even 1 betta to add. you might also be able to throw in a "easy going" gourami. hopefully you will get some more tips and refferals from other members too. But with all the referrals you get make sure to research it to make sure it'll fit with the fish you have before you go and buy it.

I would not recomend geting any more. up grade to a little biger tank 20 or 30 gallon. Then you could add some more fish. IMO

I agree I would not put any more fish in that small of a tank. If you want to make it look nicer maybe add a background and some more plants. In my opinion more fish would be over stocking and your water will get dirty alot faster which means your fish will suffer and could get sick.

water changes are the best way around a bacterial bloom (milky water)

Stick with the fish you have until you can upgrade or swap the fish for smaller species such as ember tetras.

A dwarf puffer wouldn't make a very good addition as they can be very aggressive and are suited best to species only tanks.

Frogs again are best on their own.

Snails would be fine, any species would be, saluwesi snails would be the most interesting in my opinion, but they will eat plants for if you plan them in the future

Puffers can not be with other fish only other puffers. You really should not add anything until your water is stable and clear. Doing partial water changes will help with the cloudiness

If you are talking about adding to the 2.5 gallon I would not add anything as that is just big enough for the Betta you have.
