Aqueon 75 filter

Ive had an aqueon 75(i think quietflow)filter running on my 72 gallon for a few months and before that it was on my 38 gallon. When it was in the 38 i had put in these litttle cylinders that hold bacteria into the back of the filter. It says its made for up to 90 gallons i was wondering if adding the cylinders would make it be able to do a tank bigger then that. Im just wondering not actually gonna do it

There are exceptions, but a good rule of thumb is to use a filter rated for the size of the tank it's used on. Some folks are even convinced you need more. I tend to think any GPH reference is fairly insignificant and our focus needs to be on better filtration/purification rather than greater water flow.
Adding a small amount of some bio-media to a cartridge filter won't make much difference and in some ways may even compromise it's operation.
