Aquarium stand question

Hello, I am setting up a new 5 feet tank (around 125 Gallon). The dimensions are 152 cm x 55 cm x 54 cm. So the dimension of the base is 56 cm x 152 cm

I have a got a very good sturdy iron stand from a friend. But the dimension of the top of the stand is 51 x 151. Is it okay to use this stand? as around 5 cms of the tank will be outside of the stand. I hope you got what I mean.
Is it really mandatory to make sure the stand covers whole tank base?

It is mandatory to have a stand that the entire tank sits on if the stand is smaller than the tank itself the glass bottom of the tank will be sitting on the stand. Once the aquarium is full the amount of water weight on the bottom glass will cause it to explode from the bottom. The bottom edges of an aquarium are designed for this kind of pressure and weight. Unless you want 125 gallons of water all over your floor then do no use a smaller stand. The bottom glass will shatter. Maybe not right away but it will.
