Aquarium lighting

After a few months of absence, I am back to aquariums and fish world. Just planning to set up a 10 gallon freshwater fish aquarium and wondering has anyone using LED lights in their aquariums instead of energy hogging halogens? Well, I read somewhere that Petco has good LED lights.

Any input and ideas are welcome.

While IMO LED's are def the way forward in the tank world; they're atm still pretty expensive.
So what works for me for the time being in the 10g's is Daylights from Bright effects (bought at Lowes); while they're energy safers using minimal power (contrary to the halogens); they fit in the normal standard 10g hoods and the light is wonderful for my eyes and my plants and they fit muchhhh better in my tanks then the twisted bulbs (Bulb picture attached)

I got Philips spirals for my 10 gallon tank that does fit the standard incandescent socket. Both were 13 watts and the lumens were rated at 900 which is respectable. I think I paid $7 for the both of them, bought em at Home Depot here in Vancouver, BC.
