Aquarium Gloves

I want to buy some arm length aquarium gloves, as I get bad eczema on my hands and arms when I have to put them in my tanks. But how do I know which ones are safe for use in the aquarium? I don't want to spend a fortune either! Have looked on eBay, the cheapest was 50 pairs for £8.00. I live in the UK. Any links appreciated!

You can go with disposable or re-usable gloves. Some specialty aquarium gloves sold are arm length with elastic upper bands and reusable. They run about $15 or more (US). If you are the only person using them, the reusable gloves should not cause any issues, particularly if you wash your arms before each use (reduce skin oils and bacteria build-up in the gloves).

I'd recommend nitrile (chemical resistant and hypoallergenic) gloves over latex. Repeated exposure to latex can cause an allergy to develop. I think the reusable gloves are vinyl, which should be ok also.

The gloves are more commonly used in saltwater tanks, I believe. Pretty much any glove, as long as it's not "powder-coated" should be fine used in a tank, just rinse the exterior of the gloves off before first use.

18 species/varieties of fish, 15 species/varieties of plants - The fish are finally ahead of the plants!
*560 gallons (2120 liters) in 5 tanks -> you do the math.

I use Burt's Bees Hand Salve when my hands and arms get real dry. It's all natural and really good stuff. Don't know if it would help you enough but may be worth a try? I will never use any other kind of hand salve/lotion. It can also be found at a lot of supermarkets and retail stores.
