I just bought this 5 gallon cube aquarium. Any cool ideas for it? probably going to max out at 2-3 fish. something interesting. ><. The hang on filter i have for the tank is too strong; it makes too much of a current. I was planning on putting some tape around the intake. Any other suggestions?
hmm 5 gal especially a cube doesn't allow much swimming room, I would suggest a betta and maybe a few shrimp. I had minnows in my 5 gal before and did alright.
Tip: for the filter intake most filters have a way to change the water flow; the flow control knob normally sticks out above the filter's cover, twist that and it will change the water flow into the filter.
i would try a colony of some type of shrimp...........Cherries, Blue Pearl, or the Banana Yellows...............Rather a maintainance free tank other than water changes and they are entertaining to watch..........Could add a few snails of some type...........Could look into one of the species of dwarf crayfish.............I recently purchased a pair of dwarf orange crayfish for a 10 gallon i had around.......They now live peacefully with my male guppies and have had no issues what so ever
I'd agree with the shrimp, guppy, or betta suggestions. There's not a lot of swimming room for active fish, or enough water for much in the way of schooling fish. I like small tanks but your options are always limited.
