Ammonia Testing

Does testing ammonia levels right after feeding fish affect your test results at all?

Are you see a spike then? Uneaten food in a tank can cause the ammonia to go up but that takes a couple of days or so before the food starts to rot and produce ammonia. I wouldn't not think you should a spike *right* feeding them. But I guess I could be wrong here? How high is the ammonia going if it is going up then?
