It will remain until a water change removes it. But it may not be effective all this time.

Ich is best treated by raising the temperature to 86F for a week. Provided the fish can handle this (some cannot), this will deal with ich. Adding a medication as well is sometimes helpful in bad cases. Not all ich medications work, or work effectively, and some may be detrimental to certain fish species.

Ich Guard is made by jungle. The company as a whole I have not been impressed with at all. I am not sure as to the effectiveness of that particular product.

Follow the directions though and see it through. You've started it now and you're likely going to do more harm if you switch now.

Ok ive put in 2 doses so far. The ich they have recieved im sure is from the big changes i made to the tank but overall it seems as if the ich has gotten worse. I want to turn the temp up but im not sure if my fish will be able to handle it.

The fish listed earlier in this thread will be OK at 86F for a week.

Ich has a cycle to it, and it usually gets worse after the treatment has started. The parasite can only be killed when in the free-swimming stage. This is why we maintain treatment for no less than a week.
