Alkalinity?

So I just tested my cycling Betta tank. All the values look great except for the total Alkalinity. The dip strip i used said it was High, 300 ppm range.

dips aren't really accurate =(

5x2x2 aro,highfin bat,fei feng,ST,albino tinfoil,c.perch
4x1.5x1.5 planted tetras,harlequins,
otto,WMM,2 types of celebes rainbows,rcs,amano, bamboo,red ramhorns,MTS
3.5x2.5x2 flowerhorn,pleco
3x1.5x1.5 russel's lion,blue cleaner,sixline and leopard wrasse,maroon clown pair,green chromis,scorpion,tiger cowrie,turbo,lyretail anthias,jewel,anemone,star polyp,marbled and giant green mushi,zoa
2x1x1 nano sw shrimps

Really? Darn! I was really hoping I wouldn't have to buy the liquid test kit. Guess I'll need to invest in one of those. :O)

I wouldn't invest in the MTK if I just had a 5g either. o.o

no worries this hobby is addictive today a 5 tomorrow a 15 maybe a 45 in a month or 2 see where i am going??? i had 2 x 90g, came back here about a month back got a new 104g fully planted now i got another huge black glass tank waiting to be added to me decor in 9 days and another gold glass one in another month and a half. see where i'm going??? your gonna be like me soon. i can feel it
