Hey everyone i need help with an algea problem, a few days ago i spilled some flourish into my tank and i now have a massive algea outbreak that is thriving. Can anyone help me with ideas on how to get this under control. The algea is dark green some is kinda, one looks a little brown but its taking over the glass. Thank you for help.
A 50% water change would be a good idea, though closer to the time of the spillage would be more effective.Scraping the algea off the glass then doing a vac/waterchange to clear some of it would help.I dont know if lowering the length of the lights on would be good, maybe someone with more knowledge could help answer.

Water changes will be your most effective way to handle it. If it just gets completly out of controll you can always black out the aquarium for a few days and starve it to death, but if the chem is still in the water itll just come back. So that being said water changes are your best bet.
