algae- how to best control it!

i know algae, when under control is not a terrible thing- and I am not one of those people who want to eradicate it completely from my tanks, but i have a little algae issue in my 30 gallon. I have tried, cutting the light back 1-2 hours per day, adding a plant, more frequent water changes, and reuced feeding slightly. what else can i do?
currently the light is on 10 hours a day, and its a flora glow floresent light. i have 10 small fish in the tank right now- i feed them correctly. i have two plants, a small clump of java moss, and a moss ball.
the algae is mostly brown slime (diatom?) on the glass, and towards the top of the hood, there is some green/blue alagae on my airline tube.

Maybe a mystery snail (Pomacea bridgesii)? Or maybe invest in one of those magnet tank cleaning things? I've never used one but I'm sure it would be an easy solution. I have a snail and he keeps the algae under control (My tank gets a fair amount of sunlight) But he doesn't completely get rid of it. Mind you thats probably my fault, I just can't help feeding the little guy. When I see him cruising along the glass I just have to give him a little snack, he is to cute ^_^ Beware, if you choose a snail make sure it is Pomacea bridgesii because if it is Pomacea canaliculata it will get massive and eat any live plants. The pomacea Bridgesii prefers dead decaying plants and will only eat live plants if no other food is available. But since you have algae that shouldn't be a problem

Hmmm I just realized that maybe you don't have any regular algae... I don't know if a snail will eat that but I suppose it's worth a try?
