My plants are flourishing. I have to thin them out.
I use a plant chemical once every couple of weeks.
I have a U-SHaped Florescent tube light. I posted the specs somewhere but they seemed to have disappeared.
I feed once a day, sometimes once every two days. I like to feed the fish. When I first started, I feed 3 times a day, but really cut this back. Again, they beg, I hate seeing them beg. I try to feed them every two days. They always seem hungry.
Water is at 79F
50g Oceanic Tank
I feed flakes. I mix a bunch of different ones all together. All come from Big Al's. All Brand names in those plastic tube type packages mixed with a zip lock of Big Als food.
I cured the other Algae problem that was really HELL. This stuff just bugs me. I like CRYSTAL CLEAR glass.
The real issue is, the 1/2" or so of the green ring around the bottom of the tank. This is hard to get at because it disturbs the gravel.
Also, there is algae (a very thin coating) on the slate rocks I have in the tank and the substrate looks a bit the worse for wear. Otherwise, the rest of the tank is excellent.
Fish are happy.
I clean about 40% PWC every two weeks.
