| || | Most datnoids can do fine without turning the water into brackish conditions. I believe your water may be soft because almost all areas in Manila have soft water. If I were you, place crushed corals or seashells in your filter. Corals are your better bet. Limestones also help. No need to add salt and rock salt does not necessarily replicate brackish conditions. You'd need the marine salt as it has the buffering properties needed. Suitable tankmates include polypterus. Stick to senegals and delhezis. Ornatipinnis are rather large and are best avoided.

From what Ive heard most of the Siamese Tigerfish bred here has acclimated to the PH of ordinary aerated water? Plus the usual habit of mixing a few scoops of rocksalt every waterchange?
