29 gallon stocking questions.

Hello everyone this is my first post, unfortunately searching continuously for an answer I can't really find what I'm looking for.

I have a 29 Gallon 30x12x18. It's a wonderful project that has been going on for the passed 3 months that originated in a small 10 gallon. My tank seems complete yet missing something and I'm afraid to stock anymore fish until I feel fully confident that the health of my ecosystem will remain in good standing. Forgive me if it's too much detail, but I want the best answers I can find from hopefully some more veteran keepers to ensure the best response.

Current stock:

1 Freshwater puffer
2 Bala minnows (very juvenile)
2 Golden Wonder Killio
5 Neon tetra (orange)
1 Black skirt tetra
1 Common Pleco (very very juvenile)
1 Angel fish (very juvenile)

My tank is fully planted with an aspiring new project I've started for a hopeful carpeted foreground with some dwarf high grass, and a few random tall plants that are nameless as they sprouted from a bulb variety pack. One of those cheap 3 dollar ones from petco. I will be adding surfacing plants soon as well. I artificially have been adding CO2 booster, but do not have a diffuser or anything crazy. Like that.

Plenty of fine air with a massive 12 inch long air stone coating a nice portion of the back wall with extremely fine bubbles, and a small air stone offset on the side from the same line that surprisingly being only a dollar is extremely effective as well.

For filtration I have a basic top fin 30 gallon mechanical filter with some media I believe in the pad? I could be wrong but I hope to get a new biowheel setup soon. Also I have another filter that I can't remember the name of that I keep hooked up on the other end but only run it ever so often to keep bacteria on it as I know it will come in handy when I move to a bigger tank for my bala's.

pH tends to stay at a solid 6 from what I read off the tester strips I'm going to get it fully tested soon to see if it is true.

Well that's about all the information I can give. Am I fully stocked? Overstocked? what can I add? What would you add?

Welcome! Haha that's odd - most people can find any particular answer that they are searching for on the internet just a joke.

There are some issues which I assume you are aware of, or else you would not be telling us how very juvenile some of the fish are. You know those fish need to go, unless you have plans for a much larger tank.

My suggestion is to trade in the balas and Pleco and fill out the schools. Neons stay near the bottom so they probably won't get eaten by the wonder killis.

They did mention that they got another filter running for the eventual upgrade of the bala sharks... So I'd assume they are aware that the bala sharks and the pleco needs a larger tank... And even, the puffer and angel might not coexist - puffers can be a bit nippy, same as the black skirt tetras.

By itself, highly likely. In a small group, still likely. In a larger group not as likely.

Not aggressive, more like nippy.

"Aggressive" is relative. I agree, nippy not aggressive. To many people they are one in the same though. To anyone who has kept actually aggressive fish, they are worlds apart.

Definitely not looking for anything aggressive this is my first aquarium, only 3 months into the hobby. I do aspire to eventually have an oscar tank I love watching the more aggressive types go nuts for food.

29 gallon stocking questions.

Never kept glass cats, but my friend had them in his 45 for a while. To be honest, I didn't think much of them. But that's just me. They didn't do anything and they are kind of invisible....
