Well my mom is probably going to get a 20 gallon long sometime in June and I will be adding 2 of my female bettas and buy 2 more to make a sorotiy/community tank. I will also divide a small section for my male betta. What can I stock with my female bettas though like what community fish?
Corydoras catfish are usually a pretty good choice. Totally peaceful, very cute and roam around the bottom of your tank while the bettas will stay closer to the top, bringing activity to more of your aquarium. Cories have sensitive barbels so it's best to keep them with a smooth gravel substrate or, ideally, sand.
I also think it might be a good idea to have more than just the four females; the more you have, the more aggression is spread out, decreasing the odds that a single fish will be singled out and bullied by the others. In a 20g long, you could easily have 6-8 females and a nice group of 10 or so corydoras. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have the male in the tank unless he can't see through the divider.
Well we did want some schooling fish so they'll be good:-D
