Not sure if that thing can hold water, might wanna test it out in a bathtub first. That way you can see if the sides stay together. You could put a betta in it, but in my opinion you should have at least 5 gallons for a betta. I'm not really sure about other things, more advanced members can probably make some suggestions.
You could house a betta (but like PRichs87 said, check if it can hold water), but I also prefer to keep at least 5 gallons per betta. Wouldn't hurt me inside if you decide to go that way though, just stay dedicated~
But me, honestly, I think I would mess around with the tank. Try completely planting it, as a ghost shrimp farm and/or snail farm. I think it'll be interesting, IMO... exploring ways with a tank, haha. I would love a shrimp and/or snail farm ~
Betta, dwarf puffer, sparkling gouramis, maybe some Endler's males, scarlet badis, maybe some microrasboras, shrimp, snails, etc. Not all at once, of course!
You will encounter problems cleaning it. I suspect it's made out of plastic(easy to scratch) and you will also have problems with the light sistem as plastic tends to melt/deform when heated( the light bulb or neon might do that to it) and it also has those nasty corners that will annoy you as they deform the shape of whatever is inside.
It is also not tall enough IMO thus making it hard to keep any live plants, filter, heater etc.
As for the water it should hold it just fine, it's supposed to be an aquarium/terrarium.
Perhaps(as the above sugested) good for keeping a shrimp with a rock or 2 with some moss on them or even a snail farm.
there are several members on here that keep bettas in critter keepers and have made some nice aquariums with it. if you are interested in keeping a betta check out the betta section on here. there are many bettas lovers here and can help you with set-up and maintaning the critter keeper
