15g options...

Hi guys,

I have an empty 15g tank which i would like to put something different into, not just usual (guppies, platies, tetras etc.). Water is rather soft and ph is around 7. i know i can't put much in it due to its size, but was looking for a bit of inspiration! any suggestions welcome!

thanks

I have 6 Celestial Pearl Danios, 5 Glowlight Tetras and a Dwarf Neon Gourami in my 15g. So far, everything is going good.

With soft water (and thus the pH should lower below 7 naturally), you have a host of options. There are many small fish from such waters. Pencilfish, dwarf Boraras species rasbora, small cory species (Dwarf cory, Pygmy cory, Salt and Pepper Cory), whiptail catfish, twig catfish, Ember Tetra, hatchetfish of the Carnegiella genus (4 in the profiles), and many similar others. Or for something unique, a pair of African Butterfly fish with some substrate fish. Most of all these are in our fish profiles. Freshwater shrimp with many of the afore-mentioned.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. Planted invert only tank? Dwarf puffer? African dwarf frog? Might have to tweak the pH a bit, but those are some thoughts. The planning stage is exciting, enjoy!
