10g stocking

I have a 10 gallon aquarium and recently added a male betta with 6 cardinal tetras. I was thinking of adding a pair of corys to the tank to help get the scraps of food that fall to the bottom. They would probably be pygmys if I can find them. Would this tank be overstocked?

corys should be kept in groups of 5 or more. 5 pygmys would be very much pushing the limit of stocking and you'd have to increase the water change schedule

Also, cardinals prefer much warmer water than the cories do.

If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...

You could try ghost shrimp maybe the betta will not eat them and if he does it will be a cheap snack as they normally only cost about .15 and if he does not they are great at cleaning up left over food.

Kindest Regards,
Amanda

Keeping fish its not a hobby it is a passion!

55 gallon, 44 gallon, one 20 gallon tank, three 10 gallon tanks, and a 2.5 gallon all with real plants.

I have MTS and there is no cure.
