1/8" glass?

Got to looking at my 10 gallon and the glass.seemed a bit thinner than I expected. I measured from the side (where you can see the edge of the pieces of glass) and it was 1/8" thick. The tank is going to be a permanently set up, planted quarantine tank and that's it. I read that most standard 10 gallon tanks are 1/8", but will 1/8" glass really be OK? I want to make sure before I fill it up

Tempered 1/8" glass is stronger than you might think. If it's a commercial-built unit, you can expect years of reliable service as long as you don't ever try to move the tank when it has any water or substrate in it! Glass can't withstand twisting stress well, so never, ever, move a tank of any size when it is loaded (even only a few pounds of gravel or a little water can damage the seals or break the glass when you move a tank).

18 species/varieties of fish, 15 species/varieties of plants - The fish are finally ahead of the plants!
*560 gallons (2120 liters) in 5 tanks -> you do the math.

Everything I have read says 1/8 is the standard for store bought 10gallon fish tanks. But should probably wait and see what others have to say.
