Yes, it is difficult to find lights for 29 gallon tanks that do not cost a fortune. I got a double bulb strip light from home depot for ~$30, and I will just buy the plant bulbs. Like I said, most everyone here probably knows more about plants than me, but I think that this should work for my 29 gal that I am setting up.

Also, check and see what wattage your hood is rated for. Your bulb and your fixture need to match. You can't safely put a 75 watt bulb in a hood only rated for a 17 watt bulb.
