it could be the crypt walkeri... Many crypts have geographic differences, so two crypt wendtii greens bought from the same supplier can sometimes look different.
If you move it to another tank, try not to damage the roots too much. Once you plant it, it will go through crypt melt (where the leaves literally melt). Usually the root stays alive, and will sprout.
Actually, since there's a good chance it will melt anyway, you could just make it melt in your 5G. Then when it gets too big, do it again.
A good plant for 5 gallon tanks is Echinodorus bleherae 'compacta' or E. 'Klienar Prinz'
