In my tanks I dose potassium and micros... I have enough phosphorus and nitrogen from the fish and my soil substrate.
That's my plan. I'm going to start with the trace, to see what happens since I already have some on order. Then I'll try different macros over time. I don't really want to "EI" using Flourish Comprehensive, but I'll experiment with dosing that a little heavier just to see the response. Of course, that won't help me narrow down the limiting nutrient(s). Once I identify the current limiter, that will likely just make something else a limiting factor as growth improves!
Eventually, I hope to get to a point where CO2 and light are the only limiting factors.
Hmmm, that's what EI dosing does
. I may be making this harder than it needs to be. I just hate the thought of overdosing plant nutrients and then relying heavily on water changes to not overdose my fish.
