Unidentified rapid growing something!

I was wondering if anyone can identify this little thing, I know the things right next to are 4 leaf clovers I am trying to get going, but there are some round leaf things that sprouted next to it.

It is growing fast about a leaf every 2-3 days.

Oh and if you look closely you can see they are sorta like on a runner just under the gravel.

Is it the close to the gravel short stubby plant or the long thin leaved one?

The short one is aquatic clover, looks like 45 leaf aquatic clover
The narrow leaf one looks like a crypt or val but not sure.

the stubby one next to my clover... is that maybe what the clover looks like as it spreads?

nah, it's not the 4 leaf. I agree that it's probably either a crypt or a val.

:D Now If I could just figure out where it came from. lol Not that It matters much, I am excited to see what it turns out to me as it grows.

The 4 leaf aquatic clover does not have 4 leaves in it's submerged form. It grows single or double leaves that are much smaller than the emersed from.

Use these to try and identify it for sure but unfortunately not all of the species have emersed forms shown.

Realize that the pictures they show of the emersed ones will differ a little if not completely from the ones shown of the submerged forms. Clover is one of the few ground cover I have been looking for because of the fact they have a larger root system than say HC or other small leafed ground covers. They are an excellent choice for gravel substrate.
As for how you got it, probably came in as a small leaf or a small root cluster intertwined with the other plants and it has just taken them time to finally get going really well.

I totally missed your reply fish for all. Thank you for the info. It really spreading now, and I am convinced it IS the clover. As I looked really close at it and the shoot is coming directly off of the original 4 leaf covers I put in there. They were just a few sprigs and most of them died, these were the only ones that made it out of 20 or so stems, they just sat there for the longest and now all of a sudden they are spreading like wilf fire! I am excited to see how they fan out.

I am glad it is growing so well. It usually takes some time for an emersed growth to convert to a submerged form but when it does the plant will normally take off really quick.
