Too much for 20 gallon...

long. I have bought two of the bulk groups from sweetaquatics one for 6 swords and another for 12 crypt and I was wondering if these would be good choices:
3 C. Parva
3 C. Wendtii Green
3 C. Wendtii Bronze
3 C. Wendtii Red
2 E. Martii
2 E. Oriental
2 E. Parviflorious

These are ones they have in stock and I think will not out grow the tank and will be okay at the 82 degrees the German Blue Rams that will be comeing next week need right now I just have 10 harliquin rasbora and 3 otos. I am open for suggestions if any one has any. I am not sure if all of them will fit in the tank but if they do not I have room in other tanks were I can put them. Also any ideas on the best layout for these plants. Here is a picture of the tank as it is right now the amazon sword and the tall plant with the wrikled leaves will be moveing into my 55 and the others are not in the best shape right now but I am hopeing they will improve then they will be going into my 44. The only ones that will be staying in this tank are the crystalwort that I have being held down near the front by a hair net and a piece of left over plastic that I use to make dividers with, and the java moss on top of the rock looking cave that is also held on for now with a hair net.

I have never been able to get java moss to stay down, hair net seems to be a great idea I will have to try that.

It works really well and to me is much easier than trying to tie it down. ; )

IMO the phrase too much doesn't come to mind, but I do think it will look like a lushly plant paradise. My experiences have shown me that an extra light close to the front of the tank will help the foreground plants thrive, but they will still grow regardless. I have not been very successful with c. parva, but I hope you are, it's a wonderful plant! you will love it when you see it in person.

And to give you some measure of plant load - here is what I have in my 10gallon: (2) C. parva; (4) C. sp.; (2) C. undulata; (2) C. green; (1) C. crispulata; (1) C. cilitia; (4) Java fern; (2) anubias bar. nana. and (3) S. subulata. And there is still plenty of space!

Thanks guys I have sent an email to sweet aquatics with my plant request so hopefully they will get back to me soon. I hope they ship them faster than the last batch I ordered. Seems like last time it took two weeks before they shipped them.

As you asked in your PM Amanda, this seems fine. I would be interested to see what the Echinodorus martii does in a small tank. I am assuming this is actually E. major, and this is a very large sword. But even if it's leaves trail on the surface, it is a lovely plant, one of my favourites among the Echinodorus.

In our profile of Echinodorus major I included information on the confused names of this plant species, if you're interested. [I see a revision is needed to the text; I mentioned Rataj's remarks that plantlets are not produced, but they are, my E. major has two lovely plantlets that I will be planting in the substrate soon, and these appeared after the flowers on the inflorescence.]

Thanks Byron here is a link to the one I will be purchasing the common name is ruffle sword iif it does reach the 18 inches it says in the profile I think it will look nice as I do not plan at this time to add any floating plants:

I am thinking maybe the 2 oriental swords on the left side were the amazon is right now then the other swords along the back, then the c. parva on the right kind of beside the cave thing and the c.wenditts in the mid section and the crystal wort will hopefully grow and make a nice foreground. Does that sound like a good way to do it? I also may add a skinny long piece of driftwood stretching diagonally across the tank with more java moss on it if I can find a piece I like.

Yes, that plant is actually Echinodorus major, as noted in our profile. And 18 inches it will be, mine in the 115g is even longer than that, the one in the 90g has remained smalle--probably due to light, it gets more in the 90g and this usually means shorter leaves with this genus.

Oriental swords have the reddish leaves, so place them in more direct light such as closer to the front. Shaded they tend to not do well.

When I look at my tank the part that seems to get the most light is in the area were the heater that you can see in the picture is so I will put the oriental there most of the time I do not turn on the room lights unless I need to read or write as I get lots of light to see with all the tanks in the room. LOL Thanks again for all your help.
