Tall Easy plant

I currently have a 50 tall tank.

I have various different species in there and have some rock structure, and some driftwood structure and various plastic plants in there.

I am looking to start putting some live plants in there, but since my tank is a tall I want them to be taller plants.

Do you have any suggestions on tall easy to take care of/put in plants?

You may wish to consider Amazon Sword which can grow up to fourteen inches in favorable conditions . another easy plant that can get tall is onion plant. giant hair grass is cool too.

i have tried looking around on here, but does anyone have a good link on the best way to care for plants in a tank?

I currently have a 1/2 sized pebble gravel bottom about 3-4 inches deep.

Am I going to have to adjust the bottom of the tank?

some members here use eco-complete,i myself use gravel.
plants that grow tall are Vallisneria,
someone else will pop in with some good choices :)

Corkscrew Vals I think are one of the easier ones. And one of the tallest ones. Mine got 20 inches long. The only problem you will run into is lighting being strong enough.

Swords are great- there are some really nice ones that grow very tall. You'll probably want to add some root tabs (fertilizer) to the gravel below your plants as sword just suck nutrients out of the substrate.

Stem plants can grow quite tall and there are some nice, low maintenance ones.

Anubias is a great, slow growing plant. Many of them grow very tall. They don't require very high light, their leaves are very waxy (and therefore hardy) and they are pretty difficult to kill.

Go here http://plantgeek.net/plantguide_list...=5&filter_by=4 all backdrop plants and on the side it will tell you how hard it is to care for them. A great site for plants!

That website is awesome...just the basic tho...but nice pictures too. Just wish it would tell you where you could BUY some of those things! I have the banana plants...they are so unusual, I just love them in the tank.

Look in the classifieds on this forum, there's some great plants up for grabs (and I'd love to grab em but I've blown too much money lately cuz of the new tank)
