Thanks for all the advice guys, I'll check Petco for some non-tubed live plants that you suggested. Otherwise, I'll just order online.

I'm not sure offhand what wattage my light is. It is the stock bulb that came w/ my 20 gallon starter kit. Is there a type and wattage of bulb that is recommended?
