50 lb bag goes for around eight bucks in my neck of the wood's. | Thanks 1077, I did some research and the coal slag's an inert by-product of burning coal. Considered environmentally safe and non-reactive. Think of it as like a "black glass". $8 for 50lbs locally for me also, so I'm going to try it some time. Abrasive, since it's sold as an abrasive(!), but I'll use it in a tank without cory's. I think the term "slag" was throwing me off.
