Root tabs?

I am trying to find info on those tabs that you guys have been talking about...the ones that you put on the substrate beside the plants, and I can't find anything about them. What are they called, where can I get them, and how much do they cost?

I got the generic AP fert tabs, nothig more than some leterite and iron I think. Have never used the fancier more expensive ones. I think I got 50 of them for like $4

I, too, use the AP tabs, as f4a does. They have an increased amount of chelated iron and other macro ferts. I am also using PfertZ, the product of on of our sponsors. I am very pleased with my control tanks so far. I will be posting a critique on the new product in a couple of weeks.

Can you get JBL The Seven Balls in the US? I have used them for a while now and am pretty happy with the results. They are also pretty cheap too and when combined with their longevity, that makes quite a difference!

The main positive point about them is that they are quite large (balls) and will last an awful long time. The packet says a year, but I haven't have them long enough to test that - what I do know is that they have lasted many months as I managed to disturb one by accident recently.

That brings me on to the main bad point - if you disturb them, they disintegrate and you get brown much everywhere!

For a generic root tab, I recommend them.
