BBA? My lfs says that they have seen people brought to tears by that plants because they can't get it to grow. I think I'm going to get a carpet of riccia.

BBA, Black Brush Alage. Pain in the ass. The only way I got rid of it last time was to use Alage Exit solution and I planted a shed loads more plants lol.

Seems to be attacking the Glosso now though which is gutting cos I spent a fortune on it.

Hmm dunno about that one. I did have a BM to a blog that had all the different types but dont have it on this PC. Try a google search for an index of aquarium algae. If it is a good one it should give you the cause and any remedies.
