One LAND-PLANT Question and One AQUARIUM PLANT question...

Ok, firstly, I'm not sure where to ask this. If anyone can direct me to a good place or knows the answer, thanks!

I have planted some lettuce, and I have read "fish emulsion" is a good fertilizer. Well, I was thinking maybe I could save my water and water my plants with it on occasion (of course id avoid getting it on the leaves). I was wondering if anyone knew if any of the AquaSafe or the Flourish fertilizer I use would be harmful to plants I am going to be eating. Or if anyone had an idea. :)

Secondly,

In my 44g aquarium, I have a "pile up" of waste in the gravel it seems to me. Since it is heavily planted, I am not sure how to get this cleaned. Any suggestions?

Have used old aquarium water,cow manure,rabbit manure,and remains of fish I have cleaned in the garden and don't believe there is much harm.Frequently use water from water changes on house plants and they thrive.
For removing waste from around the plant's in the aquarium, I might remove the big end from gravel vaccum or python, and stick the smaller end near the plant's to vaccum up the waste.
This also works well for baiting, and then sucking up snails when they get too numerous.
The smaller diameter hose has more suction capabilities than the large end attached to the syphons and will allow you to get in between plants easier.

Go ahead and use the water on your plants - they will love it! Your lettuce will be perfectly safe to eat :)

1077 is right about the vacuuming. Much easier without the big end on the siphon. You don't need to try to get rid of all the mulm, though - since you are heavily planted, your rooted plants will actually use the mulm for food. Especially the heavy root feeders. :)

You sure its ok even if I used aquasafe and fertilizers? (Going to eat this, I wouldn't worry if I wasn't.)

And theres many crypts, and 2 giant amazon swords in the aquarium but the mulm seems to be building up. Last time I poked around the soil and broke it up a bit I think. Theres some spots without plants though, I bet thats even worse! I guess I'll just try to suck up those spots!

The flourish would be fine (Basically the same as hydroponic fertilisers I think.)

I don't see any harm that would come from the aquasafe...
Just water the plants with aquarium water, and about a week before harvest use only tap and water heavily.

Everything will get flushed out.
