Stick with the GE bulbs from walmart, I have 4 of those currently running over my tanks, stay away from the bright effects(from lowes now called something different) bulbs they don't handle the heat well, I've lost 2 of 4 of those bulbs.

The GE package at walmart is a blue and white package that says 6500k right on the front of the package, I'd recommend 2 x 10 watt bulbs or 2 x 13 watt bulbs as both these should fit inside a 10 gallon fixture.

GE, Sylvania, and Westinghouse are all good brands of spiral CFLs. I've never bought any from Walmart, mainly because they overprice them a lot there. Walmart of all places .
